Successful professionals, artists, businesspeople and leaders need a common skill to communicate their ideas and innovations. Clear and compelling writing is an undervalued but advantageous asset in school, in a career, and in life.

The program is designed to develop all areas that are essential to successful academic writing at this level: essay and paragraph structure and development, as well as grammar, vocabulary and spelling. The result will be to help students improve their writing skills, increase writing confidence and complete homework without hassles.

Other specifics include:

• Learning how to organize the writing process, including prewriting, drafting, revising, editing and publishing.

• Applying composition techniques, including topic sentences, details and transitions.

• Understanding the different types of grade–appropriate composition assignments.

• Learning from a variety of text–based projects commonly assigned in school, including outlining main ideas and supporting details, analyzing short passages and writing summaries.

The words we use say a lot about us. doesn’t only teach students the right words to use; it also gives them a broader repertory of words from which to choose.  Whether prepping for the a standardized test or working with word lists, we help students learn, understand and properly use a wider vocabulary.

In addition, we review all tests, quizzes and essays the student brings home.  This significantly enhances preparation for subsequent tutoring sessions.
