High School Admission Testing

For students graduating from K-8 schools, the ISEE and standardized test is an unfortunate reality of the New York City school environment.  's experienced test-prep specialists will customize the right  program for you to help you get the best possible test scores.

For middle-school students preparing for the ISEE  high-school admission test the good news is that, unlike the SAT and ACT required for college admission, this test depends more on mastery of basic subject content and less on test-taking skills.  While this does not necessarily mean that you cannot improve your score by learning how to deal with test-taking anxieties and by developing test-taking strategies, it does mean that concentrating on English and math fundamentals will benefit both your academic results and test scores.

For example, we have found that some students being taught from the ubiquitous Everyday Mathematics text often lack many of the basic computational skills that are essential for success on the ISEE.   will
identify and reteach these areas of weakness.  Other students may not have had sufficient vocab drills, or they might be unfamiliar with analogy questions.  's ISEE and SSAT programs are designed to improve test scores by strengthening these skills.

Due to the way the ISEE ranks test scores (a 9-point scale, called "stanines" is used), it is difficult for outsiders to assess a student's relative rank based on practice test scores.  This makes accurate progress assessment quite difficult.  To remedy this, has developed powerful statistical techniques to "map" raw practice-test scores onto the stanine rankings.  We then use this powerful diagnostic tool to monitor progress and direct teaching resources where they can add the most value.
